Amber is a lifelong Fan of Southern Gospel Music.
The first concert I attended was in October of 1999 - The Cathedral Quartet in Johnson City, Tennessee,
after that I became a huge Ernie Haase fan.
I was raised a United Methodist in a little town called Jonesborough, Tennessee.
I grew up listening to Southern Gospel Music with my Family. You will hear me speak of my Family a lot. As a Family we’ve traveled many miles to different States seeing different quartets and soloists.
As a child growing up, my Family believed that I would someday be on radio, and that’s when Paw (Lawrence) stepped in and made me sit at the table and learn as many Artists and songs that I could.
He believed that one day I would benefit from his teaching. We’d sit at the table for a few hours up until I'd get frustrated trying to learn. What most doesn’t know, He had a bad stroke and he could hardly talk. He’d stutter and you couldn't understand hardly what he was saying. With him doing this with me it was also helping him learn to speak again. My Nana (Nancy) she loved stepping in at night and helping as well. She always loved listening to Gaither's Precious Memories TV show and she'd call me into her room and point out singers asking what their names were to see if I knew them.
Paw got sick in 2020 and was continually in and out of the hospital he didn’t know about any of this and eventually died in February of 2021. Around that time I created the group Southern Gospel News on Facebook. It launched in May of 2020 and quickly became a hit that grows daily.

I was invited to join WDIC 92.1 in December of 2021. I met with my Old Pastor Mark Huffine and he helped encouraged me in a rough spot in life. Mark asked me later on to become WDIC Media Manager. I created their Facebook page and redesigned the website to what it is today.
Pastor Mark called one day and I shared my heart with him and he told me: “You never know what’s coming for you or what’s right around the corner waiting for you. Don’t give up” I hung up wondering what that could mean. I also started to remember how Ernie Haase told me many times throughout the years to "Never give up, Never give in that its all going to be okay."

I started doing radio ads and found out I loved what I was doing. In May of 2022 Mark offered me another Sunday morning show where I create a 30 and a 20 min show of SGM Music that has no talking, and then later on in August I was given the 10am show called Solid Gospel Gold.
Come join us and listen to our Sunday morning shows on the New 92.1 WDIC I am sure each of you will be blessed!
